As a part of full CA curriculum revamping, CA Final syllabus will also get changed. Below are the major extracts of CA final new syllabus 2016 and also had discussed the probable applicability of CA Final new syllabus 2016.
CA Final New Syllabus 2016
Total Number of Papers: No Change, i.e 8
Group I
Paper 1: Financial Reporting (100 Marks)
Paper 2: Strategic Financial Management (100 Marks)
Paper 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics (100 Marks)
Paper 4: Corporate Laws and other Economic Laws (100 Marks)
Group – II
Paper 5: Advanced Management Accounting (100 Marks)
Paper 6: Financial Services and Capital Markets & Information Systems Control and Audit (100 Marks)
- Part I: Financial Services and Capital Markets (50 Marks)
- Part II: Information Systems Control and Audit (50 Marks)
Paper 7: Advanced Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation
- Part I: Advanced Direct Tax Laws (70 Marks)
- Part II: International Taxation (30 Marks)
Paper – 8: Advanced Indirect Tax Laws (100 Marks)
So, there are no major changes in CA Final syllabus unlike CA CPT new syllabus and CA IPCC new syllabus, only paper 6 got a new 50 marks addition named as Financial Services and Capital Markets.

CA Final New Syllabus 2016 Applicability Details
The exact date/month of CA Final new syllabus 2016 is not declared yet as the bill for the proposed changes it pending with CG to get the approval, once it’s approved we will have the details from when the new CA Final syllabus will be applied.
So, we assure it will not be applied before 2018.

I had passed C.A.(Intermediate)examination held in Nov, 1989 and could not clear C.A. Final due to some or other reasons and appeared for C.A.Final Group I exam after the gap of almost 25 years and could get the exemption by securing 61 marks in Company & Allied Laws during the exam held in Nov, 2014. Again I could not clear the other subjects in Gr.I during last two attempts and this ensuing May, 2016 is the last attempt for availing the exemption, so kindly guide me to clear the Gr.I at least in May, 2016 and thereafter Gr. II

What I can suggest is do join coaching classes for CA Final, if you feel ashamed in offline classes, then you can also join online classes of CA final at caclubindia, I have done that and it is good, group 1 at CAclubindia for CA Final will take maximum 250 hours to finish the 3 subjects. It’s a good choice. Faculty like Rahul Malkan (FR), Amit Parakh/Rahul Malkan (for SFM), Ravi Taori (Audit) are good picks there.
Otherwise, I don’t think referring new books at this stage will be helpful, so I suggest joining the classes as you will get some tips and techniques to crack the CA Final Group 1.
